Founded in 2015, CuriosityStream is an entertainment company that offers digital content and video programming, including TV shows, documentaries, short-form video content and more. The video-on-demand service was launched by John S. Hendricks, who is also the founder of the Discovery channel. The platform started as a standalone OTT media service, and the service was later expanded to the Amazon Channels. CuriosityStream signed its first distribution deal with MVPD in 2017, and it became available for subscribers on the Comcast set-top box and then on the MSO’s Xfinity.
