About Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie
Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie is a popular science museum in Paris, France. Located in Parc de la Villete, the museum is one of the world’s largest and is visited by more than 5 million each year. Opened in the year 1986, the museum is spread across 3 hectares. One of the most important highlights of the Cite is the Geode, a geodesic dome that stands 36m tall. Inside the Geode, visitors will find the Omnimax movie theatre with a 1,000 sq mt screen. There is a permanent exhibition called the Explora. The museum also has a planetarium, an aquarium and Cite des Enfants for children. For a quick bite or relaxation, visitors have a number of dining options within the complex.
Cite is open from 10am to 6pm, Tuesday to Sunday. It is closed on Mondays. If taking public transport, you have metro, bus as well as tram that connects you to the destination. For metro, you need to take Line 7, Porte de la Villette station. If you are travelling with your own automobile, you have parking facilities for motorbikes, cars and coaches.
Tickets for entry can be purchased online or at the entrance. Tickets vary for adults and children. Ticket Explora gives you access to the exhibitions, planetarium, Louis-Lumiere and Argonaute submarine. Pass annuel holders can enjoy one year unlimited access.
