About Chimelong Safari Park
Chimelong Safari Park is a popular wildlife preserve and tourist attraction that was opened in the year 1997. Located in Panyu, Guangzhou, China, the park is spread across 2,000 acres and is touted as the largest wild animal theme park in the world. Open from 9.30am to 6pm, the Chimelong Park has special tickets for adults, children and seniors. The park is China’s first “AAAAA” grade scenic area and also includes a large section of subtropical rainforest. The park is divided into eight zones – Australian Forest, American Jungle, Mid-Asian Desert, South Asian Rainforest, European Mountain, Wild Terrain, South African Highland and East African Savanna.
The park has more than 500 rare animals, including pandas from China, meerkats from South Africa and Asian elephants from Thailand. Visitors can travel in self-driven vehicles to get a close view of the animals. The Safari Park also has plenty of dining and shopping options.
