About Blender
For all 3D animators, illustrators and graphic designers, the Blender suite is indeed the gospel. It is a free and open source 3D creation suite. Originally created by Ton Roosendaal and initially released in June 1, 1998 under the NeoGeo animation studio. The NeoGeo animation studio later dissolved and its contract were acquired by another company. This did not deter Ton Roosendaal, who founded the Not a Number Technologies (NaN) in June 1998, to continue developing Blender. NaN went bankrupt in 2002, thereby halting the development of Blender. In May 2002, Ton Roosedaal relentlessly founded the Blender foundation, with the development of Blender as its primary goal. After a crowd funding campaign called the ‘free Blender campaign’, the Blender foundation announced that it had amassed enough funds and released Blender as a free and open source software.

Blender is a graphics software suited for 3D features such as modelling, rigging, animation, simulation, rendering, soft body simulation, particle simulation, sculpting, composition and motion tracking, even video edition and game creation. The Blender user interface is very relatable and deploys features such as editing modes, accessible hotkey usage, comprehensive numeric input, and multiple workspace management. The application uses the Python API, C+ and C++for its programming language and runs on the Linux, macOS, FreeBSD and Windows operating system.

The Blender Institute which houses the Blender Foundation is located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. It was established in 2007 by the Blender foundation chairman Ton Roosendaal and now serves as the permanent office. It also serves as a studio for the effective organization and coordination of the open projects related to 3D movies, games and visual effects.

The institute offers a training program for professionals in a bid to promote Blender talent. The institute offers courses such as Grease Pencil, Krita for concept artists, Blender Migration courses, Blender Studio TD, Blender VFX, Advanced FX with Blender, advanced Production Lighting and Blender Crash course. All these courses are run for a duration of 1-5 days depending on the course. The prices for the courses are – €195 for 1 day, €595 for 3 days and €995 for 5 days.
