About Apex Legends

Apex Legends is a first-person shooter battle game which was developed by Respawn Entertainment. The game is published by Electronic Arts, a leading game publisher with impressive number of hits in its portfolio. Almost every gamer has hands-on experience with EA’s products and technologies. Apex Legends lives up to the reputation of EA and offers amazing gameplay, an efficient progression system and optimal fusion of the elements from its various genres. Apex Legends was first released in 2019 for PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows, and Xbox One. The Nintendo version of the game is scheduled for release in 2021. EA has also confirmed ports to the Android and iOS devices, which will be released in 2022. Work on the game was started in 2016, and the entire project was kept a secret, until the launch. In 2019, when the game was released, it came as a pleasant surprise to millions of gamers, who were expecting the third instalment to the Titanfall franchise, but instead got an entirely new game. The game has been positively reviewed by the critics and was considered a worthy competitor to the Fortnite Battle Royale by many. The game surpassed 25 million players in the first week only, and the number of users grew up to 50 million in the first month. In 2019, EA announced that the game had already catered to an audience of 70 million players.

When the game was launched, it took over the hits like PUBG and Fortnite. Apex Legends generated $92 million in the first month. Each character of the game took 16 months to develop and test before they were finally added to the game. The game features squads, each consisting of three players, which use inbuilt game characters known as Legends. Since its release, the developers have added single and two-player squads too. Game is monetised through loot boxes and other microtransactions. Players do have to spend real money on many cosmetic items such as weapons and outfits. Every match has 20 three-player squads, and every player on the squad gets to choose one of the fifteen characters. Every character on the game has a unique design and ability that provides a variety of skills to each squad. Somewhat like PUBG, the players are made to sit in an aircraft, which flies over the map and players have to jump on the location of their choice. For better coordination, every squad chooses a ‘jumpmaster’ who initiates the dive out and lands in concurrence with other squad members.

Like many other EA games, Apex Legends is available for sale on Origin. Origin is the distribution and sales arm of EA, and the website sells all the games that have been published by EA. You can log into the website using Your EA user id and password. The game is available for Windows and purchasing it is easy. Click on the ‘buy now’ bar on the page and make payment.
