About Apartheid Museum
The Apartheid Museum was opened in the year 2001. Located in Johannesburg, the museum is spread across 17 acres and provides a glimpse of the rise and fall of apartheid in South Africa. Visitors will have an emotional and inspiring experience through the displays and film footage. The exhibits have been assembled by a team of curators, historians and designers. Besides photographs and film footage, visitors will also find text panels and artifacts illustrating the days of apartheid and the struggle of thousands with racial discrimination.

Within the museum, there are 22 individual exhibition areas. They include the Pillars of the Constitution, Race Classification, Journeys, Segregation, Apartheid, The Turn to Violence, Life Under Apartheid, Rise of Black Consciousness, Political Executions, Roots of Compromise, On the Brink and Mandela’s Release, to name a few. The Apartheid Museum is open from 9am to 5pm on all days. Guided tours can be booked in advance. The tickets vary for adults and children. For more information or queries on tickets, timings, refund, cancellation, parking, or others, reach the Apartheid Museum customer service.
