About Amazon Canada
E-commerce giant Amazon began doing business in Canada in 2002, when it launched the Amazon.ca. The American internet retailer sells a wide range of products that include books, electronics, home and kitchen items, among others. Amazon operates numerous retail websites and country-based ecommerce portals, with all operations managed from its main headquarters at Seattle, Washington.
Amazon reportedly sells more than 3 billion products across 11 marketplaces. Product categories found on Amazon Canada include books, music, movies, kindle, computers, laptops, smartphones, cameras, home audio, software, home decor, tools, hardware, outdoor furniture, toys, cosmetics, clothing, automotive items, and furniture. The Deals section on the website lists tons of great offers for up to 50% off and more.
Purchases on Amazon.ca can be made using Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, JCB and Amazon gift cards. Upon payment you can track your package by signing into your account. Shoppers can also manage their orders from the user dashboard. Standard shipping within Canada takes 3 to 6 business days. There are express, priority, two-day and one-day shipping options available during checkout. Shipping rates vary according to item and location.
Items ‘Fulfilled by Amazon’ are directly shipped from an Amazon Fulfillment Centre. Also note that the Pickup Points delivery option allows you to choose a Canada Post retail location as a shipping destination. Not just that there is Amazon Locker if you want to receive your Amazon packages at secure locations. Most purchases on Amazon.ca carry a 30-day return policy. It however varies according to item and seller. The details are revealed when logged into account.
Become an Amazon Prime member to enjoy fast and free shipping on millions of items. Prime membership also gives exclusive access to watch Amazon Originals and access to stream over one million songs. Other benefits include free unlimited photo storage and early access to hot deals. Prime membership can be started with a 30-day free trial.
Are you a business owner? You can now start selling on Amazon and reach hundreds of millions of customers across Canada and the US. Through Fulfillment by Amazon you can also leave all the picking, packing and shipping of products to Amazon. That is not all, you can even increase product visibility with Sponsored Products keyword-targeting advertising. For more information or queries on payment, cancellation, return, refund, selling on Amazon, careers, or others, reach the Amazon Canada support.
I want to make a complaint about a cell phone that I purchased on September 13th 2022 that has a frozen screen. I am disabled and in wheelchair and my cell phone is my life to phoning an ambulance when required. Amazon.ca refuses to do a refund or replace the phone. Believe it or not they sell international cell phones that are not covered by warranty in Canada. Can you believe it?
Just want to bring to your attention that we are not happy with your service at all. Love your products and have bought lots from you in the past but are thinking the stress of our delivery is not worth it.
We are prime members and usually our guaranteed delivery within three/four days as we live out of town. But now sometimes we don ‘t even receive our parcels or they are a week or more after our guaranteed date. Sometimes it doesn’t matter but other times we need them right away.
Intelcom has to be the absolute worst delivery service ever. They keep saying they tried and were unable to deliver. Last Tuesday, they received our parcel in the Sault Ste. Marie Office and would deliver the next day. They said they tried but couldn’t deliver before 10 that night and would try again the next day. It didn’t come. It was put on hold- called their customer service and got a really rude person that would not listen. Finally after a half hour and finally showing him where we were on google maps and he needed our coordinates before he would deliver, he promised we would get it the next day. Saturday said it was out for delivery and would be here in 3 hours (that was Saturday – today is Monday) and we have seen no one. People in this area run into the same problem. Some were told that they only make deliveries out here when they have enough to make it worth their while. We pay extra for getting it delivered on time. If you can get anyone at their wear house, they have piles and piles of parcels you go through to find your’s.
We were promised another parcel Sunday – that one has yet to show it’s face either.
At least when you had purolator deliver the parcels, we received them on time and lots of times before guaranteed date.
Like I said, we are really disappointed and am really considering cancelling our subscription. When we are counting on receivng an item and don’t receive it – best to go somewhere where we can.
I have had zero problems with Amazon Canada up until I tried to order a print, the wrong print came, I returned it and reordered, another weird print showed up, I did this three times, each time needing to take time off work to return. I finally gave up because they weren’t getting it right, now they are trying to tell me I didn’t return one, which is BS, and no way of tracking because Canada Post doesn’t give you a receipt on Amazon’s return labels. I feel like I’ve been scammed and there is no number or email address to put in a complaint or to talk with someone. What is with that?
I’ve had this issue for several months now with both orders to my home (apt bldg) and at work with orders made by colleagues. The carrier that delivers for my city (Intelcom) is the absolute worst. They don’t follow instructions for where things are to be dropped off at all, their drivers seem to make little effort to deliver properly, the customer service reps I’ve spoken to on the phone are extremely rude (when you can actually get through on the phone), and there is never anyone around to run the online ‘chat” system on their website.
Example for home delivery: At the front door of my building, there a sign up that states front door buzzers no longer work so the side door ones must be used. No one reads this sign, no one follows those directions. Instead carrier drivers say “Can’t be delivered.” or “No one was home” – both being out and out lies. (If I order something to come to my home, I make sure I’m there to receive it.) This happens whether I give specific directions in my order (in delivery section of Checkout) or not. On rare occasions they will call me and say ‘Come to the door and get your package’ (granted, this was appropriate during COVID lockdown). I tell them there’s a sign at the front door, where they ‘say’ they are, that says where the buzzers are and that they need to go around to the side of the building (in other words, kindly follow the delivery instructions you were given). Needless to say, they get quite huffy about it.
Calling Intelcom to find out what happened to a non-delivered package / remedy things only leads to talking to extremely rude customer service reps. I’ve actually been hung up on when trying to explain that the drivers aren’t following directions.
I read on the Amazon website that they care for the planet. I just want to say that I was disgusted to have ordered eight items and they all came at the same time in eight different packages. Four of the items were minimum order of two, so they were obviously picked at the same time however this came in four separate envelopes. It makes me sick to see that kind of waste! I would prefer to pick a longer delivery time to see some consideration in packaging and delivery. Thankfully they all came on the same truck. Please be more careful in packing. I really do feel guilty for my order and these excesses.
I have ordered new graphics card on Amazon. The package I received contained a completely different graphics card, on top of that it had signs of usage with dust on the fans and scratches on the frame. I contacted customer service and followed their instructions. They told me to send the graphics card back to Amazon. Upon receiving the graphics card I was told that I won’t get the money back because it was a different card. However, I don’t have another card, I returned the only card sent to me by Amazon. I was refused a refund and the card I’ve returned was disposed.
No money, no graphics card. I stop ordering from Amazon again.
I recently received Echo Dot as a gift, and ordered through Amazon the “4th generation User Guide” to help me understand it. On checking the “index” – IT IS OUT-OF-DATE with many of the pages mis-numbered. You shouldn’t be issuing this manual until it is correctly printed.
I am interested in purchasing Mini PC Intel Core i5-5257U up to 3.1 GHz 8GB RAM 128GB SSD Windows 10 Pro Desktop Business Computer Support 1000Mbps LAN /2.4G+5.0G which is fulfilled by Amazon.ca. I want to be clear on the return protocol. In one place the return policy says “unopened box” and in another place it says “return in original packaging undamaged”. Obviously I need to open the package to try out the unit-if it doesn’t perform or isn’t what I require, I want to be sure that I can return it after receiving proper authorization of course. So which is it -unopened or in original packaging in good order?
I am being charged twice each month for Amazon Prime Membership .Latest billing Jan.27and 29 at $9.03 each. I am unable to reach anyone to get this straightened out. I believe one membership is for music which I cancelled many months ago and did not use. The second membership is for Prime Video which we want and use often.
How can we get this fixed? Do I have to cancel everything?
Thanks Barb

I am also being charged 9.03 per month for nothing. I contact help they can’t find any record. I go to my bank they did a fraud investigation and found it isn’t fraud. I Amazon claims to not see the charges and sends me to the bank, my bank says it’s going to Amazon and I have to resolve with them. I have been doing this for 4 months now with no resolution.
Hi there, I order many products from amazon as you can see from my history and am happy with most of what I receive. I have one problem in that when I receive emails for my orders you no longer display the item, only the order number and total along with a tracking number. This is very frustrating as most days I have numerous orders and have to check each one to see which item I’ll be receiving that day. Can you not go back to the process as before, by leaving the item picture on the emails? Thank you.
I have had this happen with a few deliveries recently and just wanted to bring it to your attention. With many deliveries being taken from peoples porches via theft or missing it general, I have a small concern. Two of my more recent orders say on the website after they have been delivered “Package handed to resident” and this was not the case. I watched the courier driver put it on my front porch and leave. I was home at the time, my concern is if I did not receive the package for whatever the reason and I contacted you regarding my missing order you would look up the order and tell me that is was handed to me when it fact this would not be the case. Many drivers take a picture after they have put it on my porch which is perfect. However to say “was handed to resident” kind of puts me at a disadvantage should there ever be an issue with one of my orders regarding delivery.
I left a message on here yesterday and it’s been deleted. so again, I’ll ask, where are my orders? I waited 2 days at home yet no deliveries. even with two supposed GUARANTEED delivery dates, nothing was delivered. when I contacted the company who does the deliveries I was told that the one order hadn’t even left the terminal. the second order was shown as being delivered, yet I was home and nothing arrived. I didn’t even get an email notice or the phone call right before delivery. not to mention, I have to buzz people in, which means they have to call me. this has got to be at least…at least, the 5th time that my orders haven’t been delivered on time. never mind the orders that were refunded because of no delivery at all. I’ve spent a lot of money on Amazon…I expect better service than what’s provided. Amazon also makes it extremely difficult to contact anyone. I did once and it was like talking to a brick wall. really poor service.
My problem was unusual, I purchased a generator, and extended warranty, next morning received notice out of stock and no idea when back. at the same time noticed the identical item for sale at about $100. cheaper, from same seller and shipper, amazon. and they had 3 in stock. called to ask why the discrepancy, was told nothing could be done, suggested that i cancel first order and place order for second at lower price. I put the second item in cart, and then cancelled first order. I was called away but an hour later went back to my cart to find the item had gone from $368. + tax to & $894 + tax., good news still the same 3 available however, once again called customer service who again could not do anything as ‘prices change’. I then went back to the original add to purchase only to find it now would cost me $738 +taxes, and extended warranty would cost more too, but now there was one in stock. I again called back and was told amazon would pay $100 Toward purchase of this item only. not a great deal I had to say. Eventually amazon gave me a promotional card for $100, that could be used on any amazon shipped /sold item, and confirmed cancelling the original generator and extended warranty but my bank says no notification from amazon, perhaps I should call amazon to confirm —wow hate to think what would happen if I wasn’t a prime member. Having two different but identical item listings at widely different prices, jumping the price by over 100%, and misleading about availability and all the time shipped and sold by amazon is nasty, and following customer service suggestion that really turned into a bait and switch but for the same product, very annoying. I know things happen by coincidence but this is very poor sales practice that I would not have thought possible.
I have been customer for about 15 yrs….but also now have issue with a recent order, total $60.80, for which I got charged 3 separate charges totaling $76.64 all the day after placing my order. Order was 55.64 and free shipping… but appears as if they charged for it anyway…. Why is this happening? and try to chat with a Rep… well it doesn’t seem to be an option on the site that I can find….They used to be really good customer service….very disappointing!!!
Hi,
I made an order (#701-5863148-7521043) from Rack Trendz Canada and the product that they sent me did not correspond with their product description. I have screen shot proving otherwise. Now the only thing that they are offering is to return the product. I hate wasting my time and needed the item rush. I don’t have the time to wait for another one.
What are your policies with situation like this?
Hi ,
First I must command the efficient shipment of all my orders even though they are the free shipping” items . Never there was a long wait.
But over the two weeks , I was very upset with the packaging of my orders
1. The Linenspa Reading Pillow which was delivered on November 14 wrapped in a dusty , filthy , looked used plastic bag . Up to now I haven’t opened it and I should . Maybe the merchandise inside is worse than its package . For technical reason I am unable to download the pix to show its horrible outlook.
2. Another order came yesterday , and I was horrified by the state of its Amazon box . Both ends were not sealed and in fact, one side was loosely half open . The children story books and the box of dog bow ties were fortunately not crushed nor ruined .
Again I took the pix for your reference , but cannot do the attachment .
So the purposes of this email is to draw your attention to the problems that I believe they are not isolated . Truly hope the quality of the goods would not be compromised by the speedy service or other elements .
Thanks for your attention to this matter.
Anita
I want to cancel my STARZ subscription. Instructions for cancelling a subscription do not work. It’s almost impossible to find any customer support or help. For a company as big as Amazon, there should be a readily available Live Chat option.
Amazon made it very easy to add a subscription but extremely difficult to cancel a subscription.
Not happy!
