I’m so disappointed in the service I’m getting. I took insurance for my laptop hollard Ackermans. It got broken and I informed you people or must I say hollard. They sent Ram people to come pick up the laptop. 3 weeks no response I keep calling they say the laptop is damaged beyond repair. They said they will send sms with a voucher so I can go buy a new one. I’m working with that laptop and it’s a month now nothing no update. Last I called they told me that they captured wrong numbers the claim was paid and closed. How angry I am right now. I contacted Ombudsman people I’m gonna sue Ackermans hollard. I lost my salary for July because of you people. Even now I have to buy my own airtime keep calling like I’m stupid
I received the worse experience at Mall of Africa Ackermans.
So i always usebmy husband’s accoint catdbto pay at the same store, which i hsve been using for about a year.
This past Sunday i bought things after the sale has been thr cashier says thr signatures don’t match so i explained that its my husband’s card etc. The manager Sipho comes and says that my husband or myselfcan call head office and he waves his hands in my face saying well then what must he do. He then just walked away. I told him please refund the stuff and give me back the card, he refused to do this. I had to leave the mall, fetch my husband and my son to sort this crap out.
It was the most dismal and horrific experience ever.
The staff are not trained, the manager is unfit.
Its overall a terrible store.
On the 17th of thus month that is Wednesday I visited Ackermans Store at Boxer Complex Cofimvaba. I bought 2 shorts, 2 t shirts and a pack of 5 briefs for boys. One of the shorts didn’t fit to a boy as it was smaller and thebriefs also. I didnt even asked him to fit them as I realised that they will be smaller. I did open the package so when I returned them this morning I am told that they dont take them back. I’m not happy because I dont what to do with the briefs and the boy doesn’t have any as he has gained weight. Please help
Well done to the staff at Balfour Park, JHB. I bought a pair of sandals on Friday morning and returned it for exchange the afternoon. I was received with pleasant service and smiles. This morning I’ve received a courtesy call from the branch to see if I was satisfied with my purchase. Wow, I was blown away! Very rarely do I receive service like this. Keep it up Balfour Park. You set a very good example for other branches.
I’m very disappointed with the service I got from Gugulethu mall Cape town, firstly I stood on the line for about 30min when I was in the till I showed a lady my receipt for the item I’m returning she gave me a bad attitude telling me that she is only doing sale and she is not going to help me then I ask her if must I go to another line now and said yes because she is not going to help me with a bad attitude and I only had 1 item that I’m returning she refused then I went to the next cashier next to her she helped me but I didn’t understand was that she can’t help me return this item because I left my card at home in order to do that I must go back home and get my card but I had my ID book with me and the receipt why can’t she help me she said their system only needs a card in order to refund back the amount in my account please can you do something about your system and please do something about your cashiers they don’t have respect for customers.
I am so disappointed with the service I got form Ackermans Ladysmith at the oval shopping center. I will not be forced to buy a paper bag instead of you guys giving us plastic just like every other shop that we purchased items at, I am so disappointed. If you have changed rules please let us know. The lady told me to carry the items I bought with my hands because I can’t puy R1. 00 for a paper bag. A whole paper bag for R1. 00?
I just received a call from an agent who was very rude and disrespectful and this is not the first time I get such.. I may be owing but I am a customer and Ackermans has been debiting from my acc every month, it’s not my fault that they didn’t this time… Could u please make sure that ur agents are trained on how to speak to customers over the phone. They should also learn to greet and say goodbye!
I’m so disappointed with the service I got from Ackermann Fort Beaufort I was looking for kids gumboots but I couldn’t find it and I ask around from the staff and they say they are out of stock,I kept on looking and I ask again and I got the same answer again and I kept on looking eventually I found the gunboats hanging and there was a lot not only 1pair as I was told its finished when I told the lady by the name of Amanda she said I told you go and look but she told me its finished. All I’m saying is that; they don’t care about their customers there, there’s totally no customer service its bad
I am so disappointed with Ackermans service. I sent them an email on Monday with the details of a dress i am looking for in my size. I got a follow up email for shops in areas that is close to me. To date no response. There would be no need for Ackermans to advertise if they improve their service but i will return the dress that i had bought and shop where business is needed.
Yesterday I went to Ackermans at Kempton square, Kempton park and I must say the service I received from the cashier Zandile Mbokane was utterly disappointing. She was sulking the whole time, she did an untidy job of packing our items, she was literally throwing them in the plastic bag to show us how angry she was at Lord knows what. It was an unpleasant experience.
I would like to highly commend SEIPATI TIRO at Ackermans, 14th Avenue, Hyperama Mall, ROODEPOORT on her integrity, initiative and prompt response to enable me to receive my wallet that I left in that branch of Ackermans on Friday 30 April 2021. Seipati is an honest, kind, understanding and friendly assistant who deserves to be rewarded generously. I will definitely support her at that branch in the future! I always receive such appalling service from your branch in Newlands West in Durban. The one cashier is horrifically rude and it’s totally shocking. I don’t take items without paying for it, I am a paying customer and it is my right to receive pleasant customer service. Unfortunately, I always receive below average service form this store!
ACKERMANS WAVERLEY PLAZA- worst and most rude customer service ive ever received!! First most of the items are without prices so that they had to phone other stores to get prices while i was told to just stand aside… finally when it came to paying the items there was a issue with the card machine where i was told its my card (and its not) they will never get a good recommendation and they’re very rude and unprofessional to their clients.

Hello there , my name is Mbali, I was at Ackermans KG Crossing in Witbank, I went there to buy an outfit for myself because i was taking my son to his friend’s party,initially i went there looking for a nice summer dress , unfortunately with my kind of body its almost impossible to find just what you are looking for but 1 of the staff members was very helpful , her name is Jennifer, she literally chose an outif for me and insisted that i go to the fitting room to try it on,i just loved it,my mother prefers me with dresses but she also loved the denim shorts and white t’shirt that this lady chose for me. Its not everyday were you get to the shop and are given this much attention. I am very impressed and will definitely be coming back to the store.
On Friday at Ackerman galleria the ques were extremely long . With more that 5 empty cashier points . Yet the lines were pulling up. . Had to endure that since I needed the body shaper I wanted. I was however very disappointed upon wearing it today.They was nothing body shaping about it. It’s not even a tight. I regret buying and since it’s a underwear I cannot return it. In all am very disappointed with quality of your body shapers…. Lesson learnt .
I am very upset and disappointed with the service from Ackermans, Kenilworth Centre. I had been looking for a particular top in my size and having gone to 4 Ackermans branches with no luck in finding it, I was ecstatic to find one in my size at Kenilworth Centre. It fitted me perfectly and I went to the cashier to pay. Apparently when I wanted it rung up, I was told the tills were’nt working at that moment and could I come back another day. I asked if there is any way I could pay for the garment, as I was very anxious about leaving it there as it was the only one in my size. The cashier assured me she would keep it for me. I told her I was unable to come for it the next day, but would come for it the following day as I really wanted that top. She assured me she would keep it for me for that day. I told her I had battled to get that size and to please keep it for me. When I came to collect it and pay for it, I was told it had been put back on the floor and subsequently sold. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, I was told it was not the cashiers fault and that they are only allowed to keep items for one day. No mention of this was made when the cashier agreed to keep it for me for two days. Also, as I was the one being inconvenienced as it was Ackermans tills that weren’t able to ring up my garment so I could pay for it, this one day policy should not have applied. I was ready to pay for it on the day, but it wasn’t my fault their tills couldn’t ring it up. It would be nice if Ackermans had a back up plan if this happened, even if they had to do manual receipts. I am beyond angry as I hunted high and low to get one that fitted me,I found it at their branch and because of an error on their side which resulted in me having to come back to pay for it another day, this has now resulted in them not keeping their word and the top I was supposed to buy on the Tuesday is now gone and no other branches have it in the size I wanted. Very disappointed at the service and I’m probably never going to have that top now as it was the only one.
Bought clothes for kids on last Saturday little did I know am sold different sizes on 1 pair. Returned next day calm as cucumber only to be angered that I should choose another pair which was not there obviously. Left staff in presence of their manager to sort out the in-house as they costing me my precious resources and get back to me with resolution by tomorrow (Monday) today already Tuesday and so disappointed. No tenacity to at least show any sign of CRM. This is poor service at its best
I applied for an account online and it’s more than three days now without getting any response not even an sms to inform me whether is successful or not. I was expecting maybe a message to confirm that they have received my application.
Same here today i returned from the store without meaningful reason why my application cannot be approved. That is too horrible indeed I expected a higher service level PEP is far more better than this. Can you train your poor people on the services they provide and sensitive how valuable these services are to your own customers. I want to enjoy same benefits just like anyone succesful is but I doubt.!!!
I went to Ackerman Musina Mall today. The service was so horrible. Had to stand in a very long que with only 2 cashiers. No customer service by the tills at all. No urgency from staff and the manager or supervisor who was called to authorize. The two cashiers were chatting to each other not caring that there were customers in front of them.
I’m so disappointed with ackermans!!! I pay them every damn month without fail, and yet they fail to allocate the money. Now each month my installment keep getting higher and higher. My emails get ignored, when I call in they tell it’s not their department so they can’t tell me what’s going on and I will just have to wait for who ever … it’s been over a week no feedback
I visited Ackermans in Villiersdorp for some Christmas shopping. One shop assistant was super friendly. Her name was Essie. So helpful. It was 2nd time at the store and I must commend her on her excellent customer service. Well done.
I visited Ackermans in Mall of the South 2-3 weeks ago that was my first time going there i was going to book my son’s phone for repairs, the service was good and quick, the staff truly go an extra mile for their customers. I was called the following Monday to be informed that they were going to exchange the device. I went to collect the new device in a week’s time and the staff were really friendly and helpful. I would like to specifically thank Phindile, Mpho and Nomfundo for their excellent customer service, keep up the good work.
I am very disappointed with the service I got from Ackermans White River, their service is so poor. I can’t lie I am very sad I bought a phone 7 weeks ago and in 8 days that phone dies I send it back to the store they told me they will book it for repair. I should come come back after 4 weeks. I did still my phone wasn’t back from the repairs. They promise to do a follow up and come back to me but still nothing from their side. Please help I need my and I bought it on cash I do not owe them either. It’s been 6 weeks now what should I do.

I have a problem that happens two times. I have Ackermans account and last year I found out that in my card I have insurance but I don’t know how because I don’t remember them asking my details for insurance I don’t even remember them telling me about it. What I know is that I open account for ackermans not insurance card. So they canceled that insurance, again I’m in that situation I always pay every month. Maybe it been four months now I didn’t take anything in their shop but when I check my balance it seems like I don’t pay at all. I than tell them to check and they found out that I have insurance again and I am owing them R600. I won’t pay that money to ackermans, I’m now certified with your account I don’t need it. How can I pay for something that I didn’t join.
I’ve never been so embarrassed. I went to Ackermans @ Thabong Mall in Sebokeng. I went there to buy clothes for my daughter. On my way out the alarm set went on as if I’ve stolen something. Only to find out that the cashier Sindi didn’t take out the black ink tag on one of the items. And even their security didn’t even bother to write down the incident. And they didn’t take any of it serious.
I went to Ackermans Church Street in Pretoria on the 3rd of August. I wanted to go to children’s department downstairs, I couldn’t go in I was told there is water there, I didn’t touch anything I just went out when I arrive at door the alarm rang as if I have stolen something. The man standing at the door asked one of the ladies working there to take me to the fitting room to search me, I asked them to check the footage from the time I entered the store and the time I decided to leave. I was asked to take my clothes off at the fitting room, I did that. The lady who was asked to search me saw I didn’t steal anything, the guy who said I should be searched he was full of negative attitude instead of apologizing he said I am crazy why should he check the footage . I really felt so embarrassed and humiliated after that incident. The time when I exit the store after the incidence the alarm didn’t ring. So please fix your faulty alarm system, before you can accuse someone about theft, check the footage, if you saw the person stealing this is where you don’t need to check the footage, train employees about customer service.
With the experience I had, I am not sure whether I will buy from Ackermans again
I went in to our Ackerman’s branch at Corkwood Mall today. This is my 3rd time dealing with the floor supervisor Carol and her team. They go out of their way to help you in locating stock and helping you in everyway they can. Today i brought a pair of shoes in to them that I got as a gift for my grandson and it was too small. They had no problem in exchanging it for another item. They must employ more people like this that make your day. Good customer service is very scarce in shops and I hope they will be rewarded for there excellent service.
I am completely angry and hurt with the service I have received from management Sunday 25 September 2022 at Ackerman’s Mabopane branch at Central city. I fully paid my layby then I waited about 2 hours waiting for my items then I was told to come on the next day or they will call me the next day to collect my items. I went back the next day just after 15H00 in the afternoon cause no one was calling, as I arrive the manager just told me he was about to call me. I didn’t buy it cause he told me that because I believe he forgot about my items then he came up with stories of system crash because of loading shedding but I didn’t understand that because the same system kept on reminding me about paying my layby every month so he then told me he’s going to refund me without asking me it that’s okay. Poor service.
I am so disappointed in the lack of communication and customer service support in Ackermans. Made my first cell phone purchase with them on the 3/11/22,at the Ackermans connect branch in Cosmo city which recently opened up,they convinced me to get the premio step up phone,they didn’t have stock and we decided they’d give me the one on display,the worst choice of phones I’ve ever bought, within 24 hours the phone started giving me issues,from freezing,to a draining battery,and when calls come in I can’t see who calls me,and my WhatsApp voice messages stop and start, I asked my partner to get a refund in the same store this morning (before the 7 day warranty I was told about).they gave him the total opposite attention to what we were given on the day of purchase,I understand they had been going through a few issues,but the manager was so unprofessional,so cold towards my partner,gave him the run around and no resolution what so ever,the Ackermans clothing manager was no help either, had to buy a phone today elsewhere but I still want my refund,I refuse to keep a phone that does me no good ,waste of money.
I am very disappointed with the service of Ackermans maponya mall. My sister in law went to Ackermans maponya to make a laybye. She has made her payments and she was given an extension of 14 days which expires today. Today she goes to maponya in the morning to pay the remaining balance only to be told that they have taken the clothes back to the floor. This is totally unacceptable since the expiry date for the extension is today when the shop closes not when it opens. We being given a second hand service by this store and it’s totally not acceptable.
I would like to compliment a service i received about a weeks ago with my problematic device that i purchased at Golden Walk Germiston. I initially took the phone in for repairs but a young lady with a different uniform than the Ackermans uniform offered to check what exactly the problem had been and i have absolutely no idea what she did but i left the store with my device and the phone working perfectly well. I liked how she jumped in and offered to assist, i would definitely love to leave a good comment in her name, she really went out of her way as she was busy with other customers but took time to assist me.
I write this comment about the service I received today at Ackerman’s Bushbuckridge. I was at the store today to purchase a bag today which I found at a price of 250 but when it was scanned, it scanned 279 and I told them I want that bag at the price I saw and they refused and told me not to buy the bag.
I’m standing in line right this moment and there’s only 1 cashier with 8 tills that are supposed to be opened. There’s 6 of us standing in the queue. Mind you, I’m pregnant and having to stand that long line waiting to pay is ridiculous. This is very poor service as far as I’m concerned. Ackermans Highveld Mall needs to improve. This is very bad!!! I’m not pleased, and going forward I won’t be making purchases here for baby’s things anymore. Jet is just next door!
I would like to lodge a complaint regarding an extremely unpleasant experience. I purchased a Samsung cell phone from your Canal walk store, which had a screen burn. I took the phone into the store and was advised by manager/s that the phone will take about 2 to 3 weeks to be repaired. I then got a call after 2.5 weeks that the phone could not be repaired due to an IME no issue. I am certainly very disappointed with the service and empty promises I received. Why did they accept my phone for repair and reply after 2 weeks that it could not be fixed???
I’m very disappointed with staff that helped me in Ackerman in Capetown (Parow center). I bought some things online so I wanted to exchange same since sizes were not right. They told me I cannot exchange them since I have no slip. I showed them slip on my phone coz it online order. I wouldn’t have received a slip. One cashier told me I must go print it out and come back to them. Ackerman must teach their staff how to handle online returns because they are lost they don’t know to offer help.
I was not happy with today’s service at Soshanguve Crossing Ackerman’s. I went to the shop around 5pm and it was not so busy. We were only 2 customers in the line waiting to pay and there were 3 cashiers at the till. Only one cashier was helping 1 customer for close to 15-20min. The other 2 were sitting and not sure what they were busy with. 3 more people came behind me and decided to leave the items. I also ended up leaving the items and also left the shop. It is not fair that I had to wait for such a long time even when the shop was not that busy.
I have been a loyal online customer for a while now. To be honest I am very happy with your services, your staff are very patient and kind. On the 17th of March 2023 I went to collect my order at Ackerman’s Daveyton mall and I was received with warmth and got my order.
I would like to place a complain, Olievenhoutbosch Plaza Ackermans. I have been waiting on the till for over 30 minutes to get my layby. I am not getting any feedback or so on. I have a small baby waiting for me at home, i am rushing. The service is very bad. At ackermans, you cannot find a quicker way to take out our laybys? Frustrated Customer!
I am very disappointed with your services. My mother bought a phone in Kzn Nongoma Ackermans and the phone stopped working after few days she then took the phone back. She was then told to wait for 6 weeks for her phone to be fixed. And also advised to always come and check If the phone is back but every time she goes to check, the staff is very rude they don’t even check if it is back or not. Mind you she bought the phone for work purposes and she also stays with my grandmother who is very sick and now it becomes difficult for her to call for help at night if my grandmother gets sick.
I filled in a form Ackermans customer care on 1st April 2023 with a complaint regarding my experience at your Mail of Africa branch and was told someone from the relevant department will contact me within 4 working days and heard nothing since.
I’m very disappointed at the service our elder citizens get in the stores, my mother went to buy a phone @Ackerman Jabulane Mall and well obvious she was happy to get a new phone but 2 days later the phones battery didn’t last, the phones screen kept freezing. When it was brought to my attention I asked her to take it back only for her to be sent back cause they couldn’t see same. I advised her to go back as I’m away from her and my working shifts. After 7 days, still repair was pending.
1. Cell phone procedures were not followed. Sales from the box were not broken in front of her
2. Customer slip wasn’t signed by a customer to agree on the Terms.
Poor service at the promenade branch and this is the 2nd time this is happening. I was assisted by the store supervisor. I have been using Ackerman for all my kids clothes.
