Air Berlin operates from its hubs at Berlin-Tegel Airport and Düsseldorf International Airport. The airline will be a full member of the worldwide airline grouping oneworld by 2012. Air Berlin won the “World Airline Award” by Skytrax for the sixth time in succession in 2010. Earlier that year Air Berlin received the “Business Travel Award 2010” in the category “Best Short-Haul Airline”. Skytrax has given the airline a 4-star ranking.
Air Berlin Destinations: Air Berlin destinations include France, Turkey, Great Britain, Thailand, Greece, Egypt, Portugal, USA, Canada, Cuba, Cyprus, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Finland, Corsica, Croatia, Iceland, Jamaica, Kenya, Morocco, Maldives, Mexico, Namibia, Norway, Azores, Russia, Sweden, Tunesia, South Africa, Italy, Israel, Spain and more.
My lugagge has been lost for over a week now on a flight from Cancún to Düsseldorf. Writing e-mails to customer service is useless since the airline has no interest in solving this issue. Nobody has answered my phone calls or my emails in seven days. Is my suitcase ever going to be found, or does AirBerlin not care about giving its customers a decent service since it’s bankrupt anyway?
My baggage did not arrive with me in a recent trip from Berlin, Germany to Philadelphia. There was more than ample time to load my baggage. The contact numbers listed on the web site for Airberline are obsolete; and all contact setup/calls seems like a farce.
I’m afraid I’ve fallen prey to unethical practices; or thievery. I would appreciate rapid attention to my luggage delay.
Lost luggage on flight from Boston to Barcelona. Finally received 3 bags after 6 days of a vacation and 1 other bag is still missing after almost 2 weeks. Calls to provided telephone number direct callers to a line that is never answered and emails are never returned. Calls to customer service report no access to baggage information and luggage tracking site in not updated. Would like a contact for a live person that can provide information and updated status.
was a passenger with airberlin for a booking from Florence, Italy to London Heathrow with a stopover in Dusseldorf on the 4th of September. I was then scheduled for another flight from London Gatwick to Dublin at 2pm that next day.
My first flight was delayed and thus I missed my connection to London. Alternative arrangements were made with British Airways, however when I asked ground staff about my luggage (which was originally intended to go straight to London Heathrow) I was told I must collect it at baggage and check it in on my new flight.
I went to do so, however it had been lost at the airport. Staff tried to locate it, however I was asked to come back in the morning before my 6:20am flight, which they knew about and said they would be there to meet me up to an hour before this time. I was told that if the bag wasn’t there in the morning
I did so and knocked on the door for lost and found for 30 minutes. When this was unsuccessful I went up to the airberlin service desk where I asked a staff member there to see if she could contact lost and found. She was horrible to me in the process, refused to help, and after a short discussion said to be (I directly quote this because it was the most terrible interaction I’ve ever had with any staff member) “Why don’t you do us all a favour and go away?” This is despite human resources being a part of her job.
So I proceeded to leave without baggage, as staying any longer would result in me missing my flight. When I eventually arrived in Dublin I was told by staff there that I should have filled out a report at London Heathrow. Thus, information given to me in Dusseldorf was incorrect. These staff in Dublin did create a missing baggage report, however, and assist me in understanding the next steps.
It has now been 5 days. I am still forced proceed on my travels without any personal belongings, aside from those which were packed in my carry on. I have yet to be reimbursed for necessities which I have had to buy while at my destination. I have tried contacting ground staff in Dublin, London, and Dusseldorf, as well as both Airberlin and British Airways. I am desperate for my luggage to be located. the missing baggage report reference is DUBBA47328.
I have had a terrible experience with Airberlin and am deeply disappointed in the service I have received, particularly by staff members who have been incredibly rude and offensive in the process. This situation is in no way my fault. I have asked all the correct people for help, enacted every procedure as have been instructed, and kept records of all the information to make the tracking process as easy as possible.
Hello.
Is there any option to choose different location in case of rebooking due to air-berlin canceled flight?
Do you have phone number for the Czech Republic?

Air Berlin, I,ve been trying to locate my luggage, 2 pieces for a week now. No answer from anybody from AirBerlin!!! My husband and I sent multiple emails, called a number that no one ever picks up do the voicemail box is full! We filed claims, no answer at all! What,s going on? How is it possible? Is some stealing all our belongings when we fly with AirBerlin? My prescription medicines are in the luggage! PLEASE HELP!
You lost our luggages and I wasn’t able to contact you as no one at Air Berlin never answer the phone, neither did you respond any of my emails.
This was a complete disaster and finally our last suitcase came back after a week being lost. In our case, the loss and found department in Munich did the research and got in touch with me at all times. They handled everything from start to finish. We were without luggage during our entire stay in Munich. Your customer service at Air Berlin is inexistant and you are not representative of the German efficiency. I shall never fly this terrible airline again.
My bags are at JFLK another airline contacted me that they had our bags, but they had to send them over to Airberlin since that’s who we flew with. I was told that Airberlin would contact us about getting us our luggage. 1 week later and no contact from Airberlin and like the previous comments, no one answers the phone number we were given, or it’s busy when we call. The few times we have actually called and had the opportunity to leave a message has done us no good! No one has returned a call or an email.
I really wish I had seen these comments prior to flying with Airberlin, I would have thought twice or at least purchased insurance for my luggage. A simple phone call or email letting us know that they have received our messages or that they are working on getting us our luggage would be GREATLY APPRECIATED and should be STANDARD POLICY!!!
I lost my bag with airberlin but wasn’t surprised as I arrived at gothenberg airport for a 0615 flight which was cancelled so they rebooted me on not the next flight but one same day at 1920 so I get this flight which was 40minutes delayed arrived in Berlin with 40minutes to transfer go to gate was delayed got on flight to abu dabi no problem got on next flight to Bangkok with ethiad no problem no luggage me and six others 3days later the girl in Bangkok says bags in Berlin when I say I’m not surprised is because when I was on the plane to abu dabi I asked the stewardess will we arrive on time and she replied have you ever flown airberlin which I said no she said they are never on time or delayed so I rest my case or should I say I’ve lost my case
Worst experience ever. My baggage is lost. No one will help me. No one will take responsibility. I can’t even figure out on website how to file claim for items purchased and for replacement of luggage. Worst customer service I have ever experienced and I will NEVER fly Air Berlin again and will tell everyone I know to not fly Air Berlin. Still don’t have clothes, reimbursement, etc. and I packed for a month. Pretty much everything I own in clothes is in that bag.
We are 30 people travelling to Ibiza on the 12 July, return flight 12 days later from Zurich. Flight changed to Niki Air. Ongoing flight changed 3 times now. Flight on the 12th is in the evening. We have a wedding celebration at 18:00 which will have to be posponed, the villa has already received a deposit for early arrival, the car rental has to be changed. Who is responsible for all these changes? Who is going to compensate us for all these extra costs. I’m assuming your airline. Absolutely disgusted and will never ever fly again with your company. Apparently you never reply to emails. This should be interesting and tells me a lot about your very unprofessional airline. If your not responsible for complaints then please give me the appropriate email address because its virtually impossible to find information on the internet.
The president of our group is traveling in business class along with several colleagues. Tickets were purchased and issued through our travel group, yet Air Berlin has yet to send a confirmation for our Executives and nobody in your airline answers the phone!?!?!
As you cannot nor deny confirmation of our group’s travel, it is fair to assume we cannot count on the competence of your airline to ensure a safe flight, hence we should cancel all our current trips, which will be a problem as they are already overseas.
We shall alert all necessary parties.
Today I had a terrible experience with Berlin Air – and to make it worse it was my first experience. We arrived two hours prior to scheduled boarding time and when we were three back from checking in the lady at the check in desk suddenly left. She returned after about 3 minutes to get her cigarettes then disappeared agin for 15 minutes. Consequently it took us about 30 minutes to check in. We were advised that although we were a party of three that only two could sit together and the other somewhere else. I said that was okay – just make sure my wife and I are together as my son didn’t care sitting elsewhere. The plane was subsequently delayed by 2.5 hours without explanation (until we eventually boarded). Upon boarding we found that NONE of us were seated together. Each of us had a middle seat. What disgusted me most was that two side by side seats directly in front of me were vacant!!!
If a “no care” attitude is what you are aspiring to then I would suggest you have made it. On the other hand if true customer service is your aspiration then I think the Company has employed the wrong people.
It’s not rocket science. Talk to people and genuinely care.
You lost my luggage. And multiple other people on the flight from Berlin to New York. I heard from many people in Berlin that you are always late as you were in all of my flights. No one answers your phone or emails even the phone you told me to call. Please correct this and contact me.
Low cost airlines provide better service than Air Berlin. No customer service on a sunday; poor very poor service. No wonder Air Berli ALitalia are going down the tube
I have an enquiry about baggage which is not clearly answered in your baggage information. I am trying to call a number to speak to someone about this. None of your listed customer service number or booking numbers seem to work and I get cut off every time. It is very frustrating. Although booking online is mostly easier, sometimes it is necessary to speak to a person. This is proving very difficult to do
Hi Air Berlin Baggage team,
I traveled by Air Berlin flight AB7451 from JFK New York to Duesseldorf on 19th Dec 2016 as a part of my whole journey from NYC JFK to Kochi, India. Due to the delay of this flight my rest of the itinerary was rerouted via Emirates to my final destination Kochi, India. But in middle of this process, my luggage could not be retrieved at Duesseldorf airport. I was ensured the luggage will be sent to my final destination, but now after repeated mails and calls to air berlin, no one in ready to help me. I have spoken to Robert from customer care at US for air berlin and has consistently provided me with 3 wrong numbers and 1 wrong email id. I have lost my bag and no support is being provided. Please suggest the status of my bag.
On 10th May 2013 flight AB8985 I had reason to complain. The Chief Steward Mr Indraden Gokhool confirmed that he would make a Passenger Complaint report.
I confirmed the incident by email with Kunderservice Air Berlin on 11th May and received an acknowledgement from Ms. Clos Customer Relations giving complaint No. V-1019543. Not having received a reply after a month I requested a response on the 11th June. No action. On the 29th June I sent a registered letter detailing the complaint to Air Berlin CEO Mr. Wolfgang Proch-Schauer. No reply. 11 weeks waiting for Air Berlin to find time to give an answer. Tried the customer information Tel. No.- its in Rumania and they know nothing about anything – they say! What sort of Micky Mouse Airline is this that treats their customers so very very badly. Anyone know the CEO’s phone number?
On jan 1 I flew from JFK to DÃœS to VIE on a business class award ticket from AA. I have avoided your airline because you have not an increased baggage allowance for AA Platinum FT. The allowance was sufficient in business class. YOUR INFLIGHT SERVICE WAS ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING. THE FLIGHT ATTENDENTS WERE PROFESSIONAL EFFICIENT AND MAKE THE STAFF AT AA LOOK AMATEURISH, INEPT AND DISINTERESTED. Fix the baggage allowance for Platinum members in the same way that BA, IB, and Finnair do and I will make AB my airline of choice to Europe. I make ten to twelve trips a year and suffer through the AA catastrophes. Bravo, Kudos, etc…..
lost bag complaint, I want a head office complaint number, not one that is going to charge me to call you when you have lost my bag and do not reply to my numerous emails ! I AM FURIOUS.
YOU HAVE LOST MY BAG AND THEN INFORM ME ITS NOT BEEN FOUND AND YOU WILL NOT COMPENSATE ME DUE TO LACK OF PASSENGER CO OPERATION !!!!! CHECK YOU EMAILS !!!! I HAVE COPIES OF THEM ALL .
Hello I would like to know if there is any e-mail addres of customer service where that I can write. Thank You, Carolina
