AliExpress is a world-renowned marketplace that was created and is currently owned by the Alibaba Group. Being the brainchild of popular entrepreneur-turned investor, Jack Ma, AliExpress was first pilot-tested in March 2009. And by the time the website was officially launched in 2010, it already hosted a collection of 5 million products for purchase. Eventually, by 2011, the number of products exceeded 10 million.

The prime goal of Jack Ma behind the creation of AliExpress was to allow customers purchase a variety of products at the best possible prices with multiple payment and delivery options. Buyers can easily communicate with sellers without any middleman. As of the current day, AliExpress serves more than 150 million buyers each month.

Interested customers can access the website of AliExpress across 14 different languages and the company has deployed delivery partners across 200 countries around the world. The supported payment methods on the platform include AliPay, credit and debit cards from major vendors (MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover), PayPal, bank transfers and Western Union.

Some of the major product categories on the website include food, home appliances, computers and office equipment, home improvement items, home and garden equipment, education and office supplies, toys, sports and entertainment, security and protection equipment, automobile and motorcycles, lights and lighting equipment and consumer electronics.

What is AliExpress’ Cancellation Policy

AliExpress allows its customers to cancel their orders before payment or when the order status is ‘Awaiting Shipment’. It should be known that if the order status is ‘Awaiting Shipment’, then cancellation can only be done with the seller’s approval. However, if the seller has already shipped the product, then you can either wait for the order to be delivered and then start a return request, or reject the goods upon delivery.

Once your order has been cancelled or return has been received by the seller, a refund will be initiated to your original payment method (except for cash payment, Western Union and bank transfer payments which will be credited to your AliPay account). Additionally, cash on delivery orders will be refunded in the form of a coupon. Do note that you have to wait at least 3-20 business days for the refunded amount to be reflected in your original payment method.
