I recently had extremely bad no worst experience with Air India Airline staff at the airport. My flight was booked to India my baggage was checked in and before issuing the boarding pass I was told that I could not fly as I don’t have the visa
I said but according to the Indian immigration policy you can get it upon arrival but they said no and cancelled my seat.I had to pay $480.00to rebook my seat. I was not informed by travel agent that this is the requirement. I am extremely upset that I have lost time and money. And now I have to travel alone.

Recently, I booked a flight for my family members from Sydney to Amritsar.

At the time of booking, there were no flights available between Delhi & Amritsar (i.e. on the same day leaving Delhi after 6pm) as the Sydney flight was arriving Delhi at about 6pm.

So, we booked the flights from Sydney to Delhi and then return flights from Amritsar to Sydney via Delhi.

Now, it has come to my attention that the flight from Delhi to Amritsar (leaving at 2215 hrs) has resumed, which is a connecting flight for passengers coming from Australia.

In the last two weeks, I have been trying to include the Delhi – Amritsar sector in our previous ticket but have been unsuccessful.

I have also contacted your Sydney office and spoke to Ms Koel, who was very helpful and provided all the information.

I have not bought the separate ticket (for Delhi –Amritsar sector) as I was waiting for a confirmation from my travel agent (Friends Travel based in Melbourne) in case the ticket can be included in our previous ticket by paying an additional fare for Delhi – Amritsar sector. The agent has advised me that the Air India will charge the current price for issuing a new ticket (with Delhi-Amritsar sector) and will be an additional $400 extra (approx.) per person.

Despite my repeated attempts to engage with the travel agent to include the Delhi – Amritsar sector, the matter is still unresolved.

I will buy the ticket from Air India website as soon as I got confirmation from your office.

I am only requesting that my family should be allowed to check-in their baggage from Sydney to Amritsar without the need to clear immigration at Delhi and then check-in again for domestic flight.

Moreover, It was our genuine intentions from the very beginning to buy return tickets for Amritsar, but there were no flights after 6pm on the same day.
Please accept my request to allow my family to check in the baggage from Sydney to Amritsar. This will save them from a big hassle at Delhi airport.

Phone never answered and the email you have on here doesn’t work either! As a travel agent I will be making a conscious effort to not book my clients on Air India again!
