I would be flying from Hyderabad to Koh Sumai, Thailand by Singapore airlines(HYD-SIN) and SKY airlines(SIN-USM) via Singapore airport.

Do I need a transit visa in Singapore? My layover time is 4 hours and 5 hours for to and fro journey.

Will my luggage be checked in directly from HYD to USM or I will have to collect it and check in again at singapore airport?

What would be the above cases for luggage if I book Singapore airlines end to end. I have that booking options as well though bit costlier.

Note : I am not willing to go out of the airport and have a Indian visa.

I took the Singapore airlines flight SQ409 from Singapore to Delhi on 09th June 2012 and on arrival found my checked in baggage wet from outside. I reported this to the field staff and they told me that this was only due to rain in Singapore and the bag is just wet from outside. Since I had to leave urgently for an appointment, i trusted the statement only to find the baggage and its contents completely drenched from inside. Some gift article packages were completely damaged due to water and the colour from those packages have destroyed my clothes. I have sent them for dry cleaning and even they are not sure all the stains can be removed. I need a suitable compensation for such negligent baggage handling.

No, you don’t require a Singapore visa because you will be at airport and will not exit from the airport.

I contacted the Delhi Office of Singapore airlines( 091 1244310999) from Ludhiana; in five minutes they changed my departure ticket as per my requirement; although I made extra payment as it was a conditional ticket. I congratulate them for their nice customer service. Also they allowed me 28+7 kg, without extra payment for which I am also thankful to staff at Delhi airport of the Airline.

    • CCC - Sam Reply

firstly Ashish..having an Indonesia visa does not mean you can enter Singapore..what you need to first check is whether Singapore needs a transit visa..hw many hours is the stop over?
