Hello I need to open a line of communication with you most urgently, it is a security matter of serious concern thank you jeremy
I have recently purchased a new laptop with windows 8 and I absolutely hate it! It may work fine for tablets and phones but the same interface does not work for full computers. I cannot find anything on the new system and I do not find it user friendly at all. It is more difficult to flip between windows without having to scroll through everything that has been opened since it shut down last. Therefore multi-tasking is extremely difficult. I recently downloaded the free trial of Office and because it is linked to the cloud, it constantly stops what I want it to do as it is streaming apps in the background. So, my supposedly very fast new computer is not fast at all while I am trying to work on documents. I am so frustrated with it. It may be better for gaming but for the average consumer that uses it for a home office I feel that it is such a huge disappointment. I have gone back to the store twice to try to find anything with windows 7 but unfortunately they are not available. I hope that you are hearing from others that are using it like myself and realize that it is not only a huge learning curve to use a system I have used for years but even that every program I download once configured for windows 8 looks nothing like I am used to so I have to re-learn everything. Who has time for this when I have a full time job.
Please tell me that the next version is coming soon and it will go back to the usual format before I throw this new laptop against a wall out of frustration.
Just purchased a Surface Pro 4 from Microsoft and they have shipped it to the wrong address. Now spent countless, useless hours talking to support in the Philippines. Terrible, terrible service. How do I contact someone who will actually do something UPS says the problem is caused by Microsoft. Microsoft says the order is correct (it isn’t)
Dear sir/madam
I am sending this message on a 8 year old Dell Inspiron, which I resurrected today after leaving the Microsoft store in Yorkdale very dissatisfied on the news that my 2 ¼ year old Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is no longer working. The technician at your store advised me that there is a hardware issue that came about after an automatic update on Saturday April 14th resulted in a black screen that cannot be fixed.
For the past 2 plus years I have had no issues on my lightly used personal computer was nothing but a pleasure to use. As a Director of Sales with Lenbrook Canada, in Pickering ON, I asked our IT people to consider using the Surface Pro as our devices in lieu of the Lenova laptops that they purchase. They may or not be still considering this, but being off on a medical leave due to my deafness, I am not in the decision at this point.
My struggle is this: I spent a great deal of my monies to get the Surface Pro. I expected a longer life as I use only for pleasure writing and news reading. When the Microsoft store advised me that it will cost me $509 to get a refurbished unit, as they do not do internal repairs, I was taken by an unpleasant surprise. Anyone off the street can purchase a refurb unit from your stores, and no credit for loyalty or consideration that a $1300 unit should give me for than 25 months of use.
I did not “purchase” a “used” Surface based on this experience. I did not purchase a $400 laptop from Walmart or any other store 25 months ago, because I wanted a great professional device to use in the twilight of my life. I have over the past years expressed my love for the Surface Pro 4 to many friends looking for a great device. I regret my recommendations based on today’s news from your technician.
I am copying Costco Canada electronics product manager with this note, as they are a great retailer who I believe values their customers feedback and loyalty.
