About Emirates
Emirates was born as the official international airline of the United Arab Emirates. Fully owned by the Government of Dubai, Emirates is the largest airline in the Middle East and has over 50,000 employees worldwide. Emirates was founded in the year 1985. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum is the Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline & Group. Emirates currently has a fleet of 137 aircraft. The airline flies to over 100 destinations in 60 countries around the world.
I have been trying, without success, to contact Emirates Singapore Office for three days.
I need to make changes to my booking (due to depart on Tuesday) but am unable to do so online.
It is imperative I speak with someone today. How do I do this?
Regards,
Milne
To Whom It May Concern:
On the 14th of this month, I arrived at the check-in counter for my flight to Luanda Angola with my wife and two children who accompanied me. When I presented my flight details to the agent, he asked if I have a Letter of Invitation from my company to allow me into the country. He also informed me that my plane ticket was for one month and was invalid for entering the country as I could only remain there for seven days.
I informed him that I am aware of that and I had a seven day flight ticket to return to Singapore which was customary to acquire my visa from the Angola Embassy in Singapore. But my company booked me on my normal return passage from Angola which was the 15th August and my seven days return flight was cancelled as it was normal policy from Emirates that two flights cannot be booked for the same person.
The agent would not allow me on the flight. I told him that everything has been arranged and approved by the Angolan Embassy with my visa, and that I will be boarding a vessel upon my arrival within the seven days visa requirement.
And still he would not allow me on the flight. I can understand the agent’s concern, but this would have been a matter between the Angolan Immigration and me and not an Emirates agent in Singapore even though I had showed him an old LOI as the original was submitted to the embassy..
Finally he allowed me on the flight and when I arrived in Luanda Angola, I did not have any issues with the immigration agent as I work indirectly for British Petroleum.
However, it was more than an hour of cajoling and arguing with the agent. My wife and children were upset. And I could have spent more quality time with them prior to my departure to Angola.
I trust this matter will not be repeated. If I have a valid visa, this could not be an issue with your ticket agent.

I checked in Dubai terminal 3 early this morning going to Singapore. I reached the counter of emirates airlines and the staff declined my papers since i missed the last call and there was exactly one hour left for plane departure. I asked when the system closed and they answered back it was 1:35 am..I told them that I was in Que since 1:35 am so i am eligible to go. Later, I went to the admin office in terminal 3 seeking to speak with someone of higher authority but of no result. Later when I went to the booking counter, the staff asked me to pay 350 USD to enter the next flight. It had empty seats. However, the staff told me there is 15 mins before they can close the booking. It is very sad all these things are happening with an esteemed airline such as Emirates. Very sad. Dubai airport is not same like before.
I booked at 3.pm to fly back on Sat. 26th May. But I then called to changed it to 28th all within 1 hour.
They insisted on the charge as it is already booked. I am not impressed. A fee of S$100/- was levied.
I had no choice but pay (gun held to my head by you) agreed and made with my ANZ Master card. The lady on line said that she could not get the card charged.
I then made a booking for my wife. My wife than made payment with her ANZ card and all was fine.
It was suggested that my payment be made o9n my wife’s card. My change of flight was the charged on my wife’s card , which I was OK with.
When leaving Singapore at the check in counter, I was told I had to pay for my return flight and that both mine and my wife’s card had not been charged.
I then gave both mine and my wife’s ANZ cards to the lady at Emirates check in counter. She returned and confirmed that my ANZ card has been charged and all is fine. This already upset me.
Yesterday in Colombo, I was refused on board. I had to make payment. I had no choice.
I have the receipts with me. THIS WHOLE ISSUE HAS PISSED ME OFF. This morning 29 may I call the call centre
The lady Rita says the my card was never charged. She was trying to be a smart arse, by saying if I was not happy I can go and make a complain.
I want some form of compensation as I had a stupid ordeal and stress levels were high.
Thanks,

I tried many times writing to emirates on facebook, I was asked to fill in the form which I did, somehow or other my filled form just cannot go through.
I hope I can retrieve my membership details. My last flight was Sin/Mel/Sin on 26th November,2011.
I had a frantic morning when I tried to check in my family of six on Emirate flight back to Singapore via Colombo this morning (19/12/2011 EK).
Only two members of my family managed to get boarding pass and the rest were stranded, without boarding passes. We booked our travel with Five Stars Travel Agency and supposed to have confirmed seats. Seats are supposed to have allocated to us already. The lady at the counter then told us honestly that the flight is overbooked.
We were exhausted and felt so helpless as everyone at the Emirates counter just pushed us around, from one counter to another counter without any solution offer to us.
Finally, after going on a merry-go-round seeking for help, we met a helpful Emirate airline ticketing staff who was able to help us to secure confirmed seat on the next flight departing the next day. However, I have to pay a penalty of USD200 per person.
Since I had bought travel insurance, I hope to claim this amount . But what proof do I have to produce? The Emirate counter staff didn’t give us any letter and just told us that they are only employees and not able to give letters.
I hope the Emirates offer could contact me and help me to seek compensation.
i had to ring your singapore office this morning and spoke to a
lady whose indian accent was so strong and it was so hard to understand her.
i wanted to up grade my son’s ticket and also wanted to enquired about a transfer of my husband’s mileage points to me.
She was very patronizing with her tone and just confuse me more!!! please listen to the recorded converstion> i rang today whic is the 19th of july between10.40 am and 11am.
This is my first time with trying to use the mileage points to do an upgrade and having her quote the points and cost for 1 mile and then go on to min and max point and amount purchase with her heavy accent was so difficult.
i can tell she was getting impatient but this is her job but like i said i might be asking a question which she might think is so obvious but i have not done this before.
If her attitude was more friendly in a sincere way ,it would have been a more pleasant call for me!!
i had to give up!!!
Sincerly,
Jennifer
