I have sent my luggage of used clothes only (no electronic/imported item) from germany to india. Dhl guys in india are asking to pay Rs6000 for custom duty whereas my luggage is not applicable to pay such payments. And the luggage is worth Rs. 7000. Can somebody suggest what should i do to avoid this trouble. By the way i was informed that there will no be any charges on used clothes and now they are asking to pay..
I spoke to the customer service number to track my package and in particular why my package that was shipped our of Diamond Bar CA, USA on January 12, 2015 for January 15, 2015 delivery was still sitting in London Heathrow for unknown reasons! I was told by customer service that there was a problem at London Heathrow with scanning and not just mine but thousands of packages were sitting there because of a technical problem!! Also, no supervisor was available because it was a Sunday!
The choice of DHL to do this transaction was an unfortunate one. I will never suggest DHL if you were constrained by time. And then if you are not, why DHL? Speed post will do it better and more reliably!
we are sorry to say that dhl service is very slow. our documents sent from china to mumbai on 23 rd april is still on 25 th april in china only, we have urgent doc. but helpless. god knows when it will reach india. way bill no. 9760739704, customer care says they can not predict when it will reach..
