About Corporation Bank
Corporation Bank is one of the oldest banks in India. It was founded in the year 1906 in Udupi, Karnataka. Started with an initial capital of just Rs.5000, Corporation Bank has recorded Rs. 1,67,000 Crore mark in business. The bank till 1972 was known as Canara Banking Corporation (Udupi) Ltd.
Corporation Bank has Representative Offices at Dubai and at Hong Kong. The bank currently has a network of 1155 fully automated CBS branches, 1145 ATMs and 1200 Branchless Banking Units across the country. The bank has also drawn up plans to open 700 new branches in the next five years. The bank’s motto ” Sarve Janah Sukhino Bhavanthu ” in Sanskrit means “Prosperity for All”.
The corporate mission of the bank is to “become a provider of World – Class Financial Services”; and “meet Customer expectations through Innovation and Technological Initiatives”. The bank completed 100 years of existence on 12 March 2006.

The same year Business Today called it India’s Best Public Sector Bank. The Asian Banker, Singapore, recognised it as India’s Strongest and Asia’s Second Strongest. I have been ur customer since the day u opened a branch in Arekeregate,Bennergetta road.Now the branch has shifted next to Adigas hotel.The receipts and payments counter is only one
managed by a single person.When I had gone there to withdraw
money,I had to wait for a long time.My turn came and as I was about to get my cash,a man standing to pay some money told me”go and sit and they will call u.”The lady was counting my cash which was a big amount.Are u not suppossed to count ur withdrawl standing there as once u moove,u cant
claim and discrepency?Last 49 years I have been dealing with all kinds of banks in India and abroad.Iam also an Executive Director.NOW,PLEASE PUT 2 DIFFERENT PEOPLE FOR RECEIPRS AND PAYMENTS.
The branch managerMr.Gadiyar has been transferred and I didnt have anyone to suggest/complain.
