About Taronga Zoo
Taronga Zoo is a public zoo in Sydney, opened in the year 1916. Spread across 69 acres, the park is home to over 4,000 animals. With incredible views of Sydney Harbour, the zoo also overlooks the Sydney Cove, the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. Those taking a ferry can get down at the Wharf 2, Circular Quay and walk to the zoo. The place is operated by the Zoological Parks Board of New South Wales.
The zoo is open from 9.30am and goes up to 5pm. Tickets at the gate will cost around $46, for adults. You can get a discount if purchasing tickets online on the website. Tickets for children come at a much cheaper price. There is an Annual Pass as well for unlimited access to the zoo year round. Love adventure? Then you can take the sky-high ropes adventure. Wild Ropes tickets as well can be purchased online. Enjoy a leisurely train ride through Taronga Zoo for $5.
