About Singapore Mass Rapid Transit
smrt-logoThe Singapore Mass Rapid Transit is a rapid transit system in Singapore that was first launched in 1987. It currently has 5 lines connecting to more than 100 stations. Two new lines are also currently underway. The MRT is operated by SMRT Trains and SBS Transit. Each year the MRT transports more than 3 million commuters.

The Mass Rapid Transit lines consist of North South Line (Jurong East – Marina South Pier), East West Line (Pasir Ris Changi Airport – Joo Koon Tanah Merah), Circle Line (Dhoby Ghaut Marina Bay – Harbourfront), North East Line (HarbourFront – Punggol) and Downtown Line (Bukit Panjang – Chinatown). The trains operate from 5.30am to 1am on all days (holidays exception).

Plan your journey using the planner tool on the website. You can input origin and destination to see a list of options, schedules and rates. Fares are calculated according to the total distance travelled. Discounted fares are available for students and senior citizens. There are single journey fares and multiple fares, in addition to the EZ-Link or NETS FlashPay cashless smartcards. You can also purchase the Singapore Tourist Pass for unlimited rides on bus, MRT and LRT trains. Tickets can be purchased through vending machines, at manned stations or online on the website. For more information or queries on tickets, payment, cancellation, parking, lost and found items, or others, reach the SMRT customer service.
