About Immigration and Naturalisation Service
The Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND) is the chief agency responsible for visas, immigration and assylum related matters in Netherlands. Locally called Immigratie en Naturalisatiedienst, the agency is governed by the Ministry of Security and Justice. Like all immigration agencies, IND as well is responsible for processing applications for residency permits and various visas. For those who want to become a naturalised Dutch citizen, the IND office also helps with same. In recent years, the agency has been active in supporting and providing protection to the weaker sections of society seeking asylum.

Residents and tourists can reach the Immigration and Naturalisation Service through phone, email or by directly visiting one of the offices in the country. Currently, IND has offices in Amsterdam, Eindhoven, Hertogenbosch, Hoofddorp, Rotterdam, Rijswijk, Utrecht and Zwolle. Note that you will need an appointment before visiting an IND office. An appointment is necessary only if you are going for information about residency, submit an application for residence permit or collect residence and return visa. You do not need an appointment if you want to collect your residence documents or give biometric information.
