About Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden
Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden is a showplace of nature that is located in Cape Town, South Africa. Opened in the year 1913, the garden is spread across 1,300 acres and is operated by South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI). With the beautiful Table Mountain in the backdrop, the botanical garden is both a place for enjoyment and education. Visitors will be in for a treat with more than 7,000 species of plants. Apparently, this is the first botanic garden in the world to be included within a natural World Heritage Site.

Visitors can explore the park trough five trails – Braille Trail, Boekenhout Trail, Stinkwood Trail, Yellowwood Trail and Silvertree Trail. As the park is located right next to the Table Mountain National Park, you will be able to see beautiful natural forest, indigenous wildlife, mammals and reptiles. All visitors facilities at Kirstenbosch are wheelchair friendly. As for reaching the park, it is located just 13 km from Cape Town’s city centre and can be reached by car or hop-on-hop-off bus. For dining, you have the Vida e Caffè, Moyo Kirstenbosch and The Kirstenbosch Tea Room. Tickets for entry can be purchased at the entrance or online using major credit cards. Ticket rates vary for adults and children. For more information or queries on tickets, timings, parking, transportation, or others, reach the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden customer support.
