About City Palace
City Palace is a beautiful complex of courtyards and buildings located in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Built between 1729 and 1732, the palace was constructed by Sawai Jai Singh II. City Palace exhibits a mix of both Rajput and Mughal architecture. City Palace Jaipur, Hawa Mahal and Jantar Mantar comprise the most important attractions in Jaipur.
Just for some facts, the four small gates in the third courtyard represent the four seasons of the year. The two sterling silver jars found here are also said to be the world’s largest sterling silver vessels. The reception centre of the City Palace is called Mubarak Mahal. Visitors will be enthralled by the museum that contains a collection of royal costumes and premium shawls. Among other attractions is the European Cab gifted by Queen Victoria and the chariots used by kings. City Palace is open from 9am to 5pm daily. Entry tickets vary for locals and foreigners.
