About Chateau de Chambord
Chateau de Chambord is a popular chateaux located at Chambord, Loir-et-Cher, France. The construction, which began at 1519 and completed at 1547, was started by the orders of King Francis I of France. It was built as a hunting lodge for Francis I. The medieval form structure is located between royal river and the woodlands. Declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981, the Chateau de Chambord boasts of 440 rooms, 84 staircases and 365 fireplaces. Among the many features of the chateau is its double helix staircase. The castle is also surrounded by 13,000 acres of parkland.
