McCarran Airport is a major airport serving the city of Las Vegas, operated by the Clark County Department of Aviation (DOA). The airport is the largest base for Allegiant and Southwest airlines. The airport serves some 39 million passengers a year. In 2008, the airport was ranked 15th in the world for passenger traffic. McCarran Airport consists of two terminals.

Had a great experience in Vegas until arriving home only to find that some expensive items from my checked baggage had been stolen by dishonest employees of Las Vegas McCarran Intl Airport baggage handlers. And of course the airline customer service reps or airport customer service reps were no help at all. Even if you can talk to them via a phone, (on hold for over an hour) they just keep passing you to the next Rep who continues the process. In the end, the consumer loses while the airline and airport thugs laugh while they enjoy your stolen items.
Just wanted to leave a comment regarding my first experience with McCarran airport, in las vegas. Had an awesome time on vacation & the airport was HUGE & security lines were easy! My only flaw would be the lack of attention to personal allergies in regards to restaurants & food within the airport. I have celiac disease & cannot eat gluten. When I arrived to the airport fri jul 1, I figured I would get a quick lunch before my flight. Using the find me gluten free app I located a GF proclaimed rest in terminal d. We made the walk… upon waiting in line I ordered a turkey sandwich on GF bread… because that was my only option. The women working the counter didn’t really see well educated as to the importance of my sandwich remaining GF. They told me that the bread might still be frozen, and if I wanted it & I asked how I would want to eat something still frozen, and they told me they could heat it up. I said okay & asked if it was on the same grittle as the other sandwiches they were making and they told me yes. to make a long story short, I didn’t feel like they were appropriately educated in allergy awareness. I told them that I cant eat the sandwich and went to find food else where, Walking back to chilis, they had to GF options. My BF took the train to terminal A from D, to get us two salads from wolfgang pucks rest. It just seems that for such a big airport there should be more a selection of allergy friendly resturants, that are actually considered GF kitchens. Our stay in las vegas, we had no issues finding resturants to accommodate my allergy, until stepping in the airport. thank you
