About IndusInd Bank
IndusInd Bank is a leading private bank established in the year 1994. It is the only Indian bank to have been founded by NRIs and is owned by the Hinduja Group. The bank has overseas offices in Dubai and London. It is headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
The bank derives its name and inspiration from the Indus Valley civilisation. According to the website, Mr. Srichand P. Hinduja, a leading Non-Resident Indian businessman and head of the Hinduja Group, conceived the vision of IndusInd Bank. The bank was formally inaugurated by Dr. Manmohan Singh, who was then the country’s Finance Minister.
In a pioneering initiative in ‘Green Banking’, the bank opened its first solar-power ATM in Maharashtra.
IndusInd Bank received the prestigious ‘Technology Bank of the Year-2009′ award in the private and foreign bank category from the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA). It has also been recognized as the Bank with the Best Performance in Credit Quality at the FE Best Banks Awards.
