About Directorate General of Passport & Residency
Oman’s immigration, visa and passport related matters are handled by the Royal Oman Police’s Directorate General of Passport and Residences. Additionally, the DG of Passport and Residences also issues identity cards, residence permits and road permits. Procedures for applying a passport or getting employment residence are published on the website. You can know the number of photographs and other documents you need to carry with you for passport or other government services.

The various visa types offered by the Sultanate of Oman include employment visa, student visa, express visa, visit visa, transit visa, business visa and tourist visa. There are single entry and multi entry visa options. Citizens of Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE do not need a visa to visit Oman. Also, citizens from a number of countries  can receive visa on arrival in Oman. The single or multiple entry eVisas are valid for 30 days. Visa on arrival is offered to All European Union citizens, citizens from Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Brazil, Australia, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, US, Turkey, among others.

The Royal Oman Police website has the online visa application service to apply for new visas and renewal of residence visas.
