American Tourister was founded by Sol Koffler in the year 1933. It is today a leading luggage brand that manufactures not just luggage bags but also casual and business bags, laptop cases, among others. The company was acquired by Astrum International (which also owns Samsonite) in 1993. American Tourister products have a global warranty of about 3 years. The warranty network is applicable in more than 80 countries. This warranty applies for only products that have manufacturing defects. If an accident or damage has occurred, one can locate an American Tourister service center in US and around the world.
What a piece of junk with 2 suitcases in a row having the wheels fall apart after less than 2 months of use. Called the complaints center and they are as useless as they new quality level of the suitcases.
We have to pay to ship to one of there repair centers.
I asked if they could just send me the parts so my shipping costs don’t exceed cost of suitcases. They said NO.
AT is banking on its customers not to go through all the hassle and cost.
Time for a BBB complaint, and all should join in to show AT real customer satisfaction .
Bad luggage-worst service. I purchased a AT ‘carry on’ with detachable briefcase at Changi airport 1.5 years ago. The zipper broke three weeks into my first trip with the luggage. I have on numerous times tried contacting the service repair shop-no one answers the phone. Via email they stated they cannot repair as I did not have a warranty card. The warranty card is for two years. This piece is a new model. Still they cannot honor that. I will pay for the cost-still no response. Finally they emailed stated they will send the zipper tooth. Still now 4-5 months later-NOTHING. Visited an AT store in Singapore-given the same sappy story-yes it is a new model less than a year old. Here is the business card of the repair shop Same number-same email –same result-NO ANSWER. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON AMERICAN TOURISTER luggage! Will have to search for other luggage/luggage repair shops.
Both the handles on my AT suitcase broke of after using only 3times! It seems like your products are like a supermarket carrier bag and you have to throw away after use! My comment is to anyone buy a decent case not an AT one!
I purchased a Tiara suitcase from a PX while I was in Viet-Nam in 1968 and I still use it. This case has NUMEROUS miles on it and was even used for my honeymoon in 1972. The outside shows minimal wear and the inside is old, but not damaged. The latches work and I still have the keys which still lock it. Pretty impressed with what it has been through in the last 46 plus years.
I have given my suitcase (mark spinner – 4 wheel) to VIP Gallery, K C Plaza Compelx, Jammu on 15th April 2012 for repair (product was with in warranty) but till date (it is 4th August 2012) i have received only false promises & dates but no credit note or repaired bag in return. Can i have it in next 7 days or shall i go legal for the same.

sir, I purchased a trolly bag on 03/02/2010 from CSD CANTEEN. Made the purchase while I was posted in guwahati. Now I am in delhi and would like to fix the following problems.
1. lock system is not working .
2. zip not running smoothly .

Please upgrade the current models you have. I am a big fan of AT bags but lack of new designs. I might try Samsonite.
Hi i purchased a luggage bag in 2009,november and it is under two yrs warranty, but when i went to the dealer of yours he has refused to take it for repair and insulted me, talked to me in bad manner and even threw away my warranty card as well my bag, so i just want to know IS THE WARRANTY ONLY GIVEN TO SHOW OFF, OR DO U TAKE SOME SERIOUS ACTION ?
