About Air India / Indian Airlines
Based in Mumbai, Indian Airlines is a state owned major airline that is managed by the Ministry of Civil Aviation. In the year 2005, Indian Airlines was rebranded as Indian. The airline operates closely with Air India. The airline started its operation on 1 August 1953. For booking tickets online visit the website at www.airindia.in
My daughter tested positive for COVID when we did RT PCR before travel. So we had to postpone our travel, and get an open ticket. While trying to rebook it was a nightmare. The first travel agent told, we need to book out ticket after 15 days from original date otherwise there is a penalty. We found no such thing mentioned in the website, it just says the new ticket needs to be within 90 days. We called again, the second agent said we can waive only for one person. I do not understand how do they expect rest of us to travel when 1 family member is COVID +ve. Is quarantine a JOKE these days? We had a long conversation with a lady (Hemalatha) who just made up her mind that she cannot help. she wouldn’t transfer to a manager, she simply repeated what she has already said. TATA has a long way to go if they want to save AirIndia.
Worst customer service ever, I want to use all the good words in the dictionary but I guess I can’t use these here. These people don’t answer there phone calls doesn’t matter how many times you call. My agent called them at least 100 times front of me to get my refund on the ticket which I bought from them. I bought a Business class ticket but when I went to the airport I was told there flight is over sold so they have to downgrade me to Business class which is totally BS. Now I’m asking for my refund where I was downgraded but these folks not even replying to anything.
PATHETIC customer care service! Bought the ticket thinking Tata’s return to aviation industry would make some change to Air India. I have been calling them and each time I call after few mins they hang up on me.. called Indian and Canadian both numbers.. what is the solution? I am going to escalate this to the top most level now! Enough is enough!
Very bad customer service…. I have checked with them in Toronto that whether I have to get my luggage at Delhi before flying to Kochi. They said it will be transferred by them but when I got there, my luggage is missing…… I could understand if I didn’t ask them… never book for Air India…
Unbelievably horrible service !!! The worst experience ive ever had with an airline. Smaller airlines have better services. Flying from Toronto to India vie London and I could get no assistance in changing my flight from 830 am to 6.30 pm 2 days in advance of flying. no one answers phones , the customer service agents couldnt even confirm if there was wifi available in flight. they kept saying call local office . Local office no on answers phone. they charge cancellations even after 1 min of booking (in this day and age!) The worst of the worst !! swearing off of Air India . NEVER FLY IT !!! HEY JUST DO NOT CARE PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF FROM THE NIGHTMARE !! I COULDNT SLEEP FOR 2 DAYS AND ISSUES WERE STILL UNRESOLVED AND I WAS OUT CAD 1000 $ more than i had planned because I couldnt miss work and the airline just dint change my flight despite many seats being available and i was ready to pay change fee and cancellation. this “airline” just doesnt give a damn about customers . Im a frequent flyer with many other airlines. the first and the last time i fly with air India. I now understand why so many of their tiks are unsold and in general why people advise against flying this !!
GOOD customer care Ms Shruti (Mumbai, 7:38pm IST); I called from Toronto 17-June-2016. Flying to Mumbai on JetAir and AI for BOM-COK-BOM. She put me on hold to confirm information, which is a) I must clear customs in Mumbai. b) same terminal I arrive is for onward journey, c) stollers can be collected and checked-in at Mumbai d) duty free purchase can be done in Mumbai or Kochi, as I wish. Thanks Shruti (and Air India).
same thing has happened to me, I dont even think they care about reviews, just bad customer service. They dont take payment over the phone. Asking me to send draft…which i cant track
The worst customer service. Money deposited to change the traveling date but the office is not returning any respone.
Money was deposited in AI Toronto office as they asked for on March 8/2012 to change the traveling date. for last 3 weeks the Toronto office don’t answer any phone call and don’t return any Email reply. They got the money and don’t care after that.
Called more than 20-25 times to get an update about refund during covid cancelation due to flight ban from Toronto. It’s a nightmare to get so much frustration to get your own money in return. No wonder why Airlines is not doing so good. Their sites says refund is already processed for billions of dollars. I don’t know where is that money. Please do some favor to your citizens Air india.
On the same boat… were you able to get your refund credited to your account? I have called them innumerable times all they say is that refund has been processed from their end.
