My experience w/ AA has been a disaster. They have cancelled multiple flights, in my opinion, w/ no id explanation. Depending on which AA rep you speak w/ the airport is closed or the volcano is the problem. However, all other airlines are able to fly in and out of Guayaquil w/ no problem. We have been here two days w/ no assistance from AA, finally secured flights on another airline and AA will not match our business class tickets. AA counters are only open for a few hours just long enough to give us the bums rush. AA customer asst. via phone has hung up on our polite inquiries and have hung up on other passengers as well as soon as the customer service rep hears it is about the cancelled flights from Guayaquil, Ecuador.

November 25th, I was coming back from Orlando to Brazil (Orlando/Miami AA 1580 – Miami/Sao Paulo(GRU) AA 929) and BOTH luggages (AA613061 and AA613062 – locator: TPDPBL) do not reach its destiny (Sao Paulo – GRU).

It is impossible a Company exist with this kind of disrespect to its customers.
I have informed AA at the airport, but until now, NOTHING happened.
This is okay for you? Your investors know the kind of Company you are?
Is there anything that you can do in order to find her luggage?
I will be looking forward your response.

    Thank you.

    Best Regards,

I flew last Thursday from Chicago O’Hare to Thailand (BKK) for a study abroad internship for photography. I knew I could only bring a personal item and one carry-on that fit the specifications as they were stated online, and mine fit the criteria. The woman checking boarding passes told me that my backpack was too big, and instead of handling it in a civil manner was extremely rude to me. My backpack contained all of my cameras and had a soft shell, leaving them vulnerable. I tried to explain to her that they were extremely fragile and instead of handling it properly, she threatened to shut the door and leave without me several times and continued to yell at me to leave something behind as I frantically tried to figure out what to do. She stated “you don’t have to be on this plane” or “I am shutting this door in one minute with or without you” and when I again repeated that the cameras couldn’t be smashed and if they needed to be checked they would need several fragile stickers and her response was that”I don’t know if I have any fragile stickers and I don’t have time anyways” and never bothered to mark it with even one.Now I am on my study abroad which I had to save up for a long time for, and I will never be able to afford again, and my cameras are broken.I am holding your company responsible,in particular, your employee.I continued to be polite as I could not believe that someone could be just so rude and nasty. I await your reply as to how this situation will be rectified.

Amanda it is extremely sad this happened with you. The airline handles several thousands of passengers each day, and sometimes you can expect such rough behaviours. These are inevitable. However, I suggest you to write a letter to the customer relations, American Airlines..or call them directly and place a complaint. You should be getting a response withing 24 hrs..
